An important reason why industrial endoscopes are capable of detecting equipment defects is that they can illuminate the inspected area without relying on the lighting conditions of the inspected area. On the surface, this may seem to meet the needs of an objective examination environment, but in reality, it is very important for the application and promotion of industrial endoscopes. The selection of light sources for electronic industry endoscopes has a significant impact on their performance.
The purpose, types, advantages and disadvantages of endoscopic light sources in the electronic industry
As mentioned at the beginning, the purpose of the light source for electronic endoscopes is to provide illumination and help obtain bright detection images. The testing environment varies greatly, and the requirements for lighting also vary. For example, deep hole inspection of castings has a narrow space and easy to meet lighting requirements. However, for testing in large spaces such as pressure vessels, high-power light sources are required to achieve satisfactory lighting effects. Therefore, it is best to use high brightness light sources, and the intensity can be adjusted according to the environment to meet the needs of different detection environments.
In the early application of industrial endoscopes, arc lamps were used as light sources, which were divided into xenon lamp light sources or halogen lamp light sources according to the different gases used. Due to the close proximity of color temperature to sunlight and strong illumination, arc lamps are still widely used. The main disadvantage is that the startup time is long. Due to the arc between the metal electrodes, it takes time to reach the predetermined brightness, has high cost, relatively short service life, and generates heat, which poses certain requirements for the heat dissipation of the equipment.
